The people behind the practice.
The Aquila Centre is led by Dr Jacinta Hatton, with a small team of administrators who make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Whether you have a question about training, consultation, supervision, or therapy, someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dr Jacinta Hatton
Founder, Director & Principal Clinical Psychologist
Jacinta is a Clinical Psychologist, EMDRAA Accredited EMDR Trainer and Consultant, Accredited Schema Therapist, and endorsed Clinical Supervisor with over 14 years across hospital, community, and specialist trauma services.
Her clinical career has included roles at the Sexual Assault Resource Centre, King Edward Memorial Hospital (including the Mother Baby Unit), Midland Hospital, Parkerville Children and Youth Care, and the Department for Child Protection and Family Support. These roles shaped a deep understanding of complex trauma, attachment, and perinatal mental health that informs everything she teaches and supervises.
As an EMDRAA Accredited EMDR Trainer, Jacinta delivers EMDR Basic Training nationally through Psychology Training, alongside Advanced EMDR and Perinatal-focused training for clinicians wanting to expand on their skills in the EMDR and perinatal space. She is one of a small number of clinicians in Australia offering advanced training that integrates EMDR and perinatal mental health, supporting clinicians across Australia to build confidence in working with perinatal presentations.
She is a regular presenter at national conferences and provides individual and group EMDR consultation for clinicians at all stages of their journey, including a dedicated perinatal-focused group.
Jacinta founded The Aquila Centre in 2020, named after a special family member and the eagle standard of Roman legions, a symbol of strength, resilience, and rising above adversity while staying connected to purpose. It felt fitting for a practice built around exactly that.
