MEET JACINTA HATTON
Director/Principal Psychologist
Dr Jacinta Hatton is a Clinical Psychologist with over 14 years’ experience across hospital, community, and specialist trauma services. Her clinical work has included roles at the Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC), King Edward Memorial Hospital (including the Mother Baby Unit), Midland Hospital, Parkerville Children and Youth Care, and the Department for Child Protection and Family Support. Alongside these roles, Jacinta has maintained a part-time private practice in Subiaco, Western Australia.

Jacinta has a strong clinical focus on trauma, particularly complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and has extensive experience supporting individuals with histories of childhood and adult sexual abuse. She works from an attachment-informed perspective, with a deep understanding of how early developmental experiences shape emotional wellbeing, relationships, and patterns of responding across the lifespan.
A central area of Jacinta’s practice is perinatal mental health. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families through the transition to parenthood, with clinical expertise spanning fertility challenges, pregnancy and birth-related trauma, perinatal grief and loss, and postnatal depression and anxiety. Jacinta brings a compassionate, developmentally informed approach to her work, recognising the profound psychological and relational shifts involved in matrescence and the importance of attuned support during this period.

Jacinta is an Accredited EMDR Trainer with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and provides training nationally through Psychology Training. She has presented at conferences on the application of EMDR in perinatal contexts.

She is also an Accredited Schema Therapist with the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST), a registered Clinical Supervisor with AHPRA, and has completed additional trainings in Circle of Security and in perinatal and infant mental health through the Centre for Perinatal Psychology.

In addition to her clinical work, Jacinta provides supervision and training to other clinicians, including EMDR consultation for practitioners working towards EMDRAA accreditation. She facilitates regular EMDR consultation groups, including a dedicated perinatal-focused group, and welcomes clinicians at all stages of experience seeking to deepen their practice.
